The great festival of Mexican cinema is about to begin! Here we tell you when and where to watch the 2023 Ariel Awards, which recognize the best projects in our film industry.
As we already know, this year the ceremony will take place in Guadalajara, Jalisco. It will be inside the Throat cut theatre where the personalities who made the making of all the nominated films in the 24 categories possible will meet. It is very important to highlight the fact that the holding of this event, especially in 2023, is very significant, since it was possible to move forward in the midst of uncertainty after, at the end of last year, the cancellation of the calls was announced. due to lack of financial support.
The red carpet will start at 5:00 p.m.while The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.. Who will present the nominations, categories and victories? That remains a mystery, but there are surely exceptional appearances planned on stage.
Recently, Leticia Huijara, president of the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC), said the following at a press conference:
“Decentralizing the ceremony that rewards the excellence of Mexican cinema is taking a firm step in recognizing the diversity of voices and views that make up the universe of our industry, it is embracing the plurality that regional artists contribute to our cinematography.”

José Roberto Landaverde I am fascinated by writing, listening, reading and commenting on everything related to cinema. I love music and I am a fan of The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Paramore. My favorite movies are Rocky and Back to the Future and obviously one day I will climb the “Philly Steps” and drive a DeLorean. Faithful believer that cinema is the best teleporting machine, and also that on the big screen we can all see ourselves represented.
