Rolling is vital for babies to crawl. They learn to control their body and strengthen their muscles.
Filming is an advance. How does the baby feel the first few times? The same as us when riding the roller coaster. He does not understand that in a moment he is seeing one thing and in an instant, he has another in front of him. I was looking at Mom’s face and suddenly she is on the ground. As a step? The experience occurs before your brain can understand it.
A) With help
While you learn to roll, you can only make the experience easier, so that when the time comes, you will not be afraid. When your body is ready, it will do it by itself. A good suggestion to get him to do it is to help him with a towel:
1. Stretch it horizontally, put the baby on it, take it from both ends near him, so that he feels secure. Make it roll on the towel by pulling alternately from one end to the other, and accompany this adventure with phrases like: Uyyyyy, let’s roll!
2. When you see that it is ready, with the same care, pull the towel from one side a little more until the baby is on its stomach. You will be surprised and, depending on your character, scared or excited on this first round. Repeat it gently several times, and when your muscles are ready it will do it on its own.
B) Without help
Between three and six months he discovers his body, and touching his feet is one of the things he likes the most.
1. From the back to the stomach: lay the baby on his back on a mat; Put on some socks with bells, you will see that in some attempts he will make to reach them and take them off he will lie on his side. That is the first step. Reposition it on its back and encourage it to roll to the other side, showing you a rattle and gently moving it from the non-turning side.
2. Face-down to face-up: place him on his tummy on a fluffy surface and hold his favorite toy in front of him. Move the toy slowly to one side, you will see that your baby will follow with his head. When you are ready, there will come a time when you will roll alone, without realizing it, until you are on your back.
