Has it ever happened to you that you are looking for a message in WhatsApp, Do you remember when you sent it but not the details to get it? The Meta app is working on a function to get the messages by the date they were sent, expanding the range for the user’s ease.
WA Beta Info unveiled this week the novelty, where you can find the messages by date. The tool is currently under development, and It would initially be available for iOS, later coming to Android devices and Desktop.
It still cannot be seen in beta mode, so we have to wait for further progress from WhatsApp. At the moment, we only see the preview of WABeta Info.
For more than two years the function was in development, according to the portal. But it was kept under study for its launch, practically in the freezer, and many dismissed it. Until now.
“Surprisingly,” notes WABeta Info, “after launching the beta update of WhatsApp for iOS 22.0.19.73 from TestFlight, we found out that WhatsApp is finally planning to roll out the feature in the future again!”
How will you be able to search for WhatsApp messages according to the date they were sent? It is simple
Here are the steps to use the new feature:
- As shown in the screenshot, a calendar icon will appear when the user searches for a message in a conversation.
- By pressing the calendar icon, it quickly jumps to a certain date, starting to read all messages from that day on.
WhatsApp offers an option for those who want to dismiss the date view: simply scroll through the conversation.
In the words of WABeta Info, “this function will be very useful, especially when you want to discover the first message shared with a certain contact or want to read what messages were shared on a certain date”.
