WhatsApp It is currently the most popular instant messaging application on the entire planet. It is used by millions of users globally but not everything is perfect with the platform.
For years we have seen how the team responsible for its development has dedicated itself to emulating some of the competition’s functions to integrate them here. On more than one occasion the experiment has resulted in an inferior experience or that can be considered an exact copy that by many could be considered as plagiarism.
But occasionally the guys from Meta and current managers of WhatsApp can surprise us by integrating functions that users have been asking for for years, almost decades, such as the possibility of finally being able to edit sent messages.
This is something that exists in Telegram for seven years, for example, but it is a change that many clamored for and that they will now be able to enjoy. Although there is bad news, since with this type of change also comes a necessary change.
And it is that too old models of Android or even the iPhone will no longer be able to support the most recent versions of the application. So many will be forced to buy a new smartphone.

Through its official support website WhatsApp constantly updates some sections regarding the changes and new functions of the platform.
But there is also a dreaded section there where the Meta team updates the minimum required versions of mobile operating systems to support the operation of the app.
This coverage cycle would expire at the beginning of June and for this reason it is essential to be aware of that site if you have a somewhat old model smartphone.
This is how now, as of May 2023, the oldest version of Android that WhatsApp can support is 4.1, better known as Jelly Bean. While in the case of iPhone it will be necessary to have at least iOS 12.
Based on these factors, we can share this list of Android and iPhone models that could no longer support WhatsApp for the simple fact that they are no longer compatible or upgradeable to Jelly Bean and iOS 12.
