WhatsApp will add new functionality to keep profile photo peepers at bay.
These days have been really difficult for Facebook. Last Tuesday, all the company’s social networks, as well as your WhatsApp instant messaging application, stopped working for several hours. An event that revolutionized the whole world, showing the importance they have in our lives.
Precisely for this reason, it never hurts to have options to be able to control who can access according to what information About us. And that is what WhatsApp will offer us in the not too distant future, according to information from WABetaInfo shared by our friends from Andro4All. Specifically, it will offer us the possibility to further customize the restrictions regarding our profile photo.
As many of you already know, WhatsApp currently allows us to choose if we want our profile photo to be seen by everyone, by our contacts, or by anyone. If we do not select a restriction, the photo will be viewable by anyone with our registered phone number. However, if we choose that only our contacts can see it, this can only be seen by those who are on our list.
Soon, a fourth option will be introduced, which will allow let’s select exceptions among our contacts. In this way, we can choose that certain people do not see our photo without having to block them or delete them from our contact list. Of course, if we block someone, they will not see the changes that we apply to the photo anyway.
The new functionality is already being tested in the beta versions of the application, so should arrive in the next few months. Of course, this is a welcome option that allows us to exercise even tighter control over parts of our lives that not everyone should have access to.
