If you are one of those who only answers “ok” to everything in your WhatsApp chatsYou are sure to love this new feature. The company is working on adding reactions to messages, similar to those we have on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, iMessage, or even on Twitter direct messages.
According to WaBetaInfo, the function will be available in a future update for beta users, since for now it is in development and is not ready for the public. However, the message that appears when someone has a version of WhatsApp that has not been updated to support the new reactions has already been leaked.

As seen in the screenshot, WhatsApp refers to the use of reactions, which would indicate that it is a range of options as in Facebook, where we can react to a post or comment with up to seven different reactions, from the heart to various other emojis.
Most likely, WhatsApp reactions will end up being a very similar implementation to Facebook, and less like what we have on Instagram where you can only ‘like’ with a heart in comments and direct messages.
For users with few words but who prefer to leave the conversations with a simple answer than only in read, at least these reactions offer the possibility of not leaving the others talking alone.
We do not know when the function will arrive and for now it has only been detected on Android, but it will surely end up reaching all platforms. If you want you can download the beta of WhatsApp Desktop for Windows and macOS and be one of the first to try it on the desktop when it begins to distribute to users.
