As we said before, to perform this trick you will have to download the extension “Wa Web Plus”, you get it directly from Google’s Chrome Web Store, What is an extension? They are small programs for web browsers that are responsible for improving the user experience, in this case it will provide some additional functions to WhatsApp Web, which Meta has not implemented to date.
The steps to keep the information of your chats open in WhatsApp Web
- After you have installed the extension on your PC or laptop, click on the puzzle piece icon (Extensions) located in the upper right corner of Google Chrome, next to your Gmail profile picture.
- All your Google Chrome extensions will be displayed immediately, but just look for the one that says “WA Web Plus for WhatsApp” and press the three vertical dots on the right side.
- The next step click on “Fix”.
- As you can see, the icon of a green cross enclosed in a circle was enabled at the top right, this is the “WA Web Plus” shortcut.
- Enter to WhatsApp Web > Link your account by scanning the QR code > tap the extension icon.
- On the right side you will see a long list of options> select the one that says “Keep contact information open”.
- Finally, press the “Escape” key > go to any chat and the “Info. of the contact”.
What does the green dot that appears when you use WhatsApp mean?
- Every time you use WhatsApp, two lights come on, one orange and one green.
- In the case of the latter, it is usually quite intense and is displayed either in the upper corner or in the notch of your cell phone.
- In the case of the green dot, it means that the camera of your smartphone is being used.
- This is interpreted as WhatsApp having access to your cell phone camera.
- In case you want to deactivate it, go to Settings, then to Applications and click on WhatsApp.
- Now you must click on Permissions.
- Then you must deactivate the use of the camera in your WhatsApp and that’s it.
- With that, the green dot on your cell phone will have disappeared when you use the quick messaging app.
