Most do not care about the security of their account WhatsAppUnfortunately, many consider this when they first fall victim to cybercriminals, who use illegal tactics to hack into your account and even take the time to activate the two-step verificationhere it is already impossible to register again even if you have the SIM card in your possession.
It is frustrating to be another statistic of computer criminals, especially if it is WhatsApp, a source of information where you not only send text messages, but also multimedia files that contain very personal data, such as: credit card numbers or debit, emails, passwords, etc. Do not worry that the hacker will not be able to restore your backup stored in Google Drive, since there is no email login on your mobile device.

If you just came here out of curiosity and not because your account was hacked, then we recommend turning on 2-Step Verification, encrypting your backup with password, and adding an unlock method (fingerprint or Face ID authentication). When your account is stolen and verification is activated, you will no longer have access to it, but there is a process to follow so that you can recover it, Which is it? in Depor we will explain it below.
So you can recover your hacked WhatsApp account with two-step verification
- Cyber criminals can hack your account WhatsApp without them having your SIM card or without you having shared a number authentication code (which you receive via SMS text message).
- How do you know if you’ve been hacked? simple, the following message will appear: “Your phone number is no longer registered with WhatsApp on this cell phone. This may be because you registered it on another smartphone. If you did not verify your number to log in again”.
- Below you will see two options: “Verify” and “Ok”, both will close your account.
- What should you do? Ideally, you should sign up again and immediately enable 2-Step Verification. “Settings” > “Account” > “Two-step verification” > “Activate” > create a password > add an email to reset the PIN in case you forget it > “Next” > “Save”.
- If the hacker beats you and turns on 2-Step Verification before you do (means they also have access to your email)just register your number in the normal way.
- It is likely that you will not receive the authentication code of the number, do not despair, try the phone call.
- Enter the code and they will ask you for the two-step verification key > here the computer criminal will automatically lose access to your account.
- Click on Forgot PIN? > then the three points that are located at the top right > “Help” > A field will be displayed to detail the problem.
- Writes: “Hello, WhatsApp team, I am contacting you because you hacked my account +51 999 999 999 (with telephone prefix and number) and activated two-step verification with an email that I do not have access to”, if you want to attach screenshots.
- Click on “Next” > “I don’t see the answer to my question” > a window will be displayed to contact WhatsApp technical support through an additional email, different from the main one (we recommend Gmail).
- The previously written message will appear > send the email and in seconds you will receive a response from the app indicating that they received your report.
- You must be patient because the response with the link to deactivate the verification can take hours or days (up to 7 maximum).
- Done, this is the only way to recover a hacked account if they enabled two-step verification.
