The forms of communication have changed radically in recent years. Since the digital age, distances have been reduced and now everything is just a click away. The media have had to adapt to these new circumstances and new options have also appeared, such as a platform focused on health trends.
In that sense, Since the pandemic, the time people spend on the internet has increased. In some cases it is for entertainment purposes and in others to stay informed about specific topics.
From the above, the consultancy LLYC developed What’s Up Health. It is a platform that analyzes the latest trends in communication and public affairs in the health sector.
New way to stay informed
This new space is made up of different, fresh, attractive and inspiring formats and approaches: videos, podcast, reports, surveys and opinion pieces of experts from LLYC or from invited firms and companies.
“This global platform will allow us to address trends in the healthcare sector in the different markets where we operate. We will have the vision of invited experts, creating a space of interest and reflection for all the actors in the health ecosystem, from the medical community, companies, patients, scientific societies, journalists, the media and institutions”, commented Javier Marín, Senior Director of Healthcare for the Americas at LLYC.
In this first installment, a key trend for this sector that is in full transformation will be analyzed in depth. It is about the digitalization at forced marches that is taking place after the pandemic. It exposes how the sector is changing after the pandemic and shows how it is necessary to promote a digital transformation of the health sector.
“We are sure that What’s Up Health will position itself as a reference space for professionals in the health sector to discuss virtually the central issues that affect the sector in terms of communication, public affairs and technology”, concluded Luis Anaya, director Senior Healthcare Northern Region at LLYC.
How long do people stay connected to the internet?
For its part, an analysis by Statista reported that during 2020 the global average time of a person connected to the internet was 6 hours and 54 minutes a day. The figure was 11 minutes higher than the previous cycle and the trend indicates that it will continue to increase.
An interesting aspect is that when reviewing the numbers by country there are large differences. In the case of Mexico the average figure is 9 hours and one minute. Although at world level the first position corresponds to Philippines with a time of 10 hours and 56 minutes. The figure indicates that almost half of the day they remain connected to the internet.
