Last night the Konami event focused on the return of the saga took place Silent Hill And despite having a good number of new games and projects, the bad news for Xbox users is that it has been confirmed that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be a temporary exclusive for PlayStation 5 and PC for twelve months. However, there was much more to the event a few hours ago. In that sense, now we try to shed light on the biggest unknown of the night, Silent Hill F, which will mark a new beginning for the franchise. What will Silent Hill F be about? We theorize about its history in the following lines although there are very few official details.
The description shared by Konami reads thus: “an entirely new story set in the 1960 Japan and that it will have a beautiful and terrifying world.” As you can see, it is not much information. We also know that development will be carried out by NeobardsEntertainment (Resident Evil Re:Verse) and the story will be written by Ryukishi07, responsible for the popular Higurashi visual novel series. Only with these data and with the trailer that you can see just above these lines, everything indicates that Konami wants to give a new origin to the Silent Hill saga. And the fact is that the chosen date does not seem like a coincidence.
If we stick to the lore of the horror franchise, Silent Hill Origins is the first in the saga’s timeline and takes place in Silent Hill in the year 1976, seven years before the events of the original video game. That Silent Hill F is set in the 1960s already makes it clear to us that we could be facing a origins game. Perhaps the ancient evil that we thought was born in the town of Silent Hill did so in this Japanese town? In the trailer we also see winks as the young protagonist drag a lead pipe in the style of Pyramid Head with his greatsword and moves with movements that could well remind the mythical nurses of the franchise.
However, the sakura aesthetic and markedly Japanese completely unmarked of what the Silent Hill saga has been historically. Our commitment remains in the aforementioned directions: Silent Hill F will be a game of origins that will transfer the curse of Silent Hill to Japan and that will offer a new point of view on the horrors that we have lived for decades in that terrifying little American town. For now Silent Hill F does not have a release date or confirmed platforms.
