When he was just beginning to stand out in Hollywood, the actor from believe 3 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania currently lives in uncertainty, with a promising career hanging by a thread. The reason is the domestic violence charges that he faces in New York since March 25. And now, Jonathan Majors finds himself at the mercy of cancellation, with some projects on the horizon that are already being denied him.
What are those projects?
This Tuesday, April 18, one day after reporting that the talent agency Entertainment 360 had terminated Jonathan Majors for “behavioral problems”, Deadline he released the news of a couple of film projects —previously linked to Majors— that will finally do without the Californian actor; alleged attacker who has also just lost the support of the public relations firm The Lede Company.
According to the outlet, the production house Protagonist Pictures chose to cut labor ties with Majors in regards to the upcoming film. The Man in My Basement. For a year, it was contemplated that the thirty-year-old would star in this suspenseful film, in addition to serving as executive producer through the Tall Street Productions brand. However, it is a fact that he was left out of the project and the search for his replacement has already begun.
The Man in My Basement It will be based on the Walter Mosley novel of the same name. It features newcomer Nadia Latif in the directing chair and boasts Willem Dafoe as part of the cast. The original plan was for Majors to play Charles Blakey, a financially troubled African-American who decides to rent the basement of his Long Island home to a mysterious white businessman.
On the other hand, although Majors was barely among the candidates for the cast of the film Otis and Zelma (a next one biopic about soul singer Otis Redding), the production house Fifth Season has removed it from its list of options, reported Deadline in his own report.
Regarding his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, at the moment it does not seem that the House of Ideas intends to fire him. A previous report indicates that there “has not been any talk” to remove Jonathan Majors from the role of Kang the Conqueror.
