According to research, there are 8 types of intelligence in children. What is your little ones?
From a young age, humans develop different types of intelligence: some children are very good at exams, and others are better able to solve problems, or they also have other abilities.
Howard Gardner is a psychologist and researcher at Harvard University, whose study is the “theory of intelligence.” In this theory he proposes to understand and respect the individual differences of each human being, starting with the way in which he learns and understands his environment.
In his theory, Gardner proposes 8 types of intelligence that develop from childhood, which are the following:
1.- Linguistic intelligence: children who are able to read, chat, tell jokes, write, learn languages and decipher different types of word games are those who have this type of intelligence.
2.-Logical-mathematical intelligence: those children who easily solve problems, such as mysteries, puzzles, calculations, logic exercises, strategy games, memories, puzzles, and easily memorize numbers, have it.
3. Visually – spatial intelligence: this intelligence is possessed by children who are good at painting, drawing, playing video games, building 3d models, reading maps, looking at paintings and pictures, solving mazes and building things.
4.-Musical intelligence: these children have a great capacity for learning through sounds. They are very good at singing, humming, listening to music, playing instruments, and composing songs.
5.-Kinesthetic-corporal intelligence: it belongs to the little ones who are very good at dancing, acting, imitating expressions or gestures, and they are attracted by mimicry; that is, they use their body a lot to express their abilities.
6.-Intrapersonal intelligence: they are the children who work autonomously, are reflective regarding their future goals, they like to express their feelings and know themselves.
7.-Interpersonal intelligence: they are children who find it easier to work as a team, help others, understand other perspectives, mediate conflicts and meet new people.
8.-Naturalistic intelligence: they are children who observe their environment and use the 5 senses for it. They are good at going out to the field, hiking, taking care of animals and the environment in general.
In addition to a little better understanding of how children’s intelligence develops, this theory proposes that there are actually no children slower than others. It is simply a way of learning differently and of conceiving the world.
