In 1995, a teenage ghost made everyone fall in love with his personality, although most of the story we only saw him as an entity, near the end his face is revealed, since he takes on a human form, at least for a few minutes. What movie are we referring to? obviously to “Gasparín” (“Casper”, in its original language), a film that launched Devon Sawa to fame, who takes the role of that friendly spirit. Because nearly three decades have passed since its premiere, many wonder what happened to the actor’s life, since several have lost track of him and believe that he disappeared from Hollywood.
Taking into account that after that film he was part of other productions, it was not until the year 2000 when he again became a popular face with “Final Destination”, with which he captivated the audience. If you also want to know what happened to that youthful idol, we will tell you below.
TWO FILMS MARKED HIS LIFE, BUT FAME OVERWHELMED HIM
For Devon Sawa, having achieved great recognition for the roles he played in “Gasparín” and “Final Destination” – although in the latter he appeared only in the first film, since he disappeared in the other four -, instead of filling him with satisfaction, fame made his life not as full as he would have liked for his age.
It was thus that little by little he decided to move away from the filming studios and had less and less participation in the productions.
DISCONNECTED FROM ACTING FOR THREE YEARS
Determined to continue a normal existence, like any boy his age, he dgave up acting completely between 2006 and 2009. Moved to Canadawhere his popularity was not so great and he was able to make a quiet life.
But what were his reasons for leaving everything? During the promotion of the movie “The Fanatic” (2019), Devon Sawa pointed out that he was not happybecause his mind wanted other things, so his fame overwhelmed him. “It was more interesting for me to go out and look for bars or see what was going on that night. He wasn’t happy doing what he was doing.”he said in an interview with Inverse.
“It was just my age, I think. I didn’t want to be the pretty boy or whatever they called me. I didn’t want to talk about my favorite food or where my first kiss was. Those things didn’t interest me.”he said in dialogue for Vulture.
RESUMES HIS CAREER AS AN ACTOR
In 2010, Sawa resumed his acting career., something that little by little followed with the passing of time. She acted in the TV series “Nikita” (2010), “A Resurrection” (2013), “Life on the Line”, “The Fanatic” (2019) and “Conspiracy in Hollywood” (2022), the last three being perhaps the most notable for having worked the first two with John Travolta and the last one with Bruce Willis..
In 2021 he is part of the series “Chucky” as the twins Lucas Wheeler (Jake’s father) and Logan Wheeler (Junior’s father).
