The concerts of Luis Miguel and Alejandro Fernández were canceled due to irreconcilable differences between the artists.
At the time of the events, it was said that the cancellation was due to a bad negotiation, since Fernández’s representatives lost around seven million dollars. History indicates that the team deposited that amount of money and in Luis Miguel’s account and he never returned it. Thus, the conflict was inevitable.
However, six years later, Polo Martínez, Luis Miguel’s former manager, revealed another version of the story: according to him, “El Sol” decided not to tour with Alejandro Fernández after a comment from his father, the singer Vicente Fernández, in which he criticized the way of singing of Luis Miguel.
The idea of the concert was for Luis Miguel to sing rancheras and Alejandro boleros, but Vicente Fernández said that the interpreter of “La Inconditional” did not know how to sing the genre that corresponded to him. This made the rivalry between Luis Miguel and Alejandro intensify.
