The white dove is a universal symbol of peace, which raises the understanding between all human beings, but for Peacemaker it is a permission to murder in the name of peace.

For Christopher Smith carrying the dove of peace in his different weapons that he uses is important since with it he has a kind of license to preserve the peace no matter how heinous his crimes may be.
In the comics Peacemaker debuted in the pages of Fightin ‘5 # 40, published in 1966 by Charlton Comics. Smith’s occupation as a peace envoy put him in the face of international threats and he soon realized that the only way to protect the peace was to fight for it.
In The Suicide Squad Christopher Smith was imprisoned in the Belle Rave prison when he was recruited by Amanda Waller for a special mission in Corto Maltese, although in the process he murdered Rick Flag.
Peacemaker features a cast headed by John Cena as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos.
Joining this series are Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith, Chris Conrad as Vigilante, Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon, and Annie Chang as Sophie Song.
The first season of Peacemaker will be eight chapters, five of them directed by James Gunn, creator of the series, which will be broadcast on the HBO Max platform on January 13, 2022.
