Next year, additional Challenger leagues will be grown to welcome more players from more regions. Additionally, teams that start in Challengers will be able to work their way up to international leagues and even make it all the way to international events. This system will open doors for up-and-coming stars through a fully connected ecosystem with major events, new tournaments, and big challenges.
Best of all, by 2023, Challengers will span more than 20 leagues from around the world, ensuring every VALORANT player has a path to achieve their competitive dreams. These Challenger leagues will offer well-organized competitions beginning with open qualifiers, with the top teams climbing the ranks through an opening and closing tournament as part of the regular season over several weeks.
Both Challengers tournaments will culminate in a knockout tournament to determine the champion of that league. To ensure these players and teams get the attention they deserve to showcase their skills, the larger Challengers leagues will have exclusive broadcast times that will be scheduled to avoid conflicts with international league matches.
Introducing the Challengers Ascension!
They will be focused on delivering achievable aspirational goals, this is a must to ensure that the most talented players in esports choose VALORANT as the game to which they dedicate their time and effort. Next year, the Challenger leagues in each of the three territories will culminate in a new series of events that will crown the best team in their territory. The winning teams of the three Challengers Ascension tournaments will earn a place in the following year’s international league.
Promotion to international leagues
Each year, the international leagues will add a team, until the 14-team limit is reached in 2027. The winning teams of the Challengers Ascension will earn a two-year promotion to the international league in their territory.
Promoted teams will have the opportunity to showcase their talent against teams from international leagues during the VCT season; they will receive benefits similar to those of their league and will have the same opportunity to qualify for Masters and Champions. After two years, the teams will return to their league to once again compete for that spot in the Challengers and Ascension tournaments.
the journey begins
“We believe the road to Champions should start directly within VALORANT. Earlier this year, we shared the first details of an in-game competitive system so you and your friends can progress beyond Ranked.” The VALORANT development team is focused on ensuring that the core experience meets our players’ expectations on a smaller scale.
“However, our long-term plan is much bigger. Our goal is to integrate this system directly into the VCT, so that teams qualify Challengers directly from the game.” It is planned to create a seamless connection between VALORANT and the VCT on an international scale, through a series of decisive moments in which the teams that are lower in the Challenger qualifiers will have to defend their place against the most recent crop of star players. on-line.
