The micromobility market is advancing by leaps and bounds and more and more interesting models are emerging. However, D-fly claims to have created the first ever HyperScooter. They are right?
What we bring today to the Mobility section of Motor.es is something truly exceptional. We are not talking about an interesting offer or the new model of a brand established in the market, but about a groundbreaking electric scooter and who wants to open the ban on the hyper scootersas if it were a hyper sports car.
And the truth is that his cover letter certifies it, because we are talking about an electric scooter of four wheels, each with its corresponding damping and brake. Additionally, the Dragonfly HyperScooter doesn’t skimp on exotic materials, turning to carbon fiber for its deck. Do you need more proof?
DragonFly Hyperscooter
The Dragonfly Hyperscooter has been conceived by London-based company D-fly, which seeks to pioneer fully suspended four-wheel e-scooters.
But any self-respecting ‘Hyper’, be it a car or a scooter, must have exceptional power. For this reason, D-fly has resorted to two 5050W motorsone at each end of the Dragonfly, to reach a maximum speed of 40 km/h (although on its official website state that it may be limited by local law).
The estimated autonomy of this Dragonfly is 80 kilometersbut what’s really exceptional about it is the suspension, which has been described by the manufacturer as “patented full tilt steering and dual 4-wheel independent damped suspension” for “unparalleled stability and control even when cruising down the road.” difficult terrain.
At lower speeds, maximum steering angles of 45 degrees give the driver an impressive 1.0 m (3.3 ft) 180-degree turning radius. For its part, the Ackermann steering geometry gives the Dragonfly precise control, maximum grip and turning efficiency.
Traction control, smart lighting and GPS tracking
The spectacular appearance of the Dragonfly, which will have two versions (DF and DFX)is rather Mad Max type, because the carbon fiber and aggressive design are accompanied by ‘off road’ wheels and visible shock absorbers.
This is how the Dragonfly moves in real life.
But the Dragonfly does not lack technology or equipment, far from it:
- 4 steering wheels for better maneuverability
- upright parking
- platform with 4 adjustable coil springs and independent
- Independent suspension struts
- 4 independent brakes
- smart lighting automotive grade with turn signals included (DFX only)
- 5-inch color digital board
- 3 driving modes and reverse
- GPS navigation combined with smartphone
- 4-digit PIN to unlock, electronic horn and sensory alarm
- electronic traction control dynamic
The Dragonfly measures a total of 1,175mm in length (1,185mm for the DFX version) and 620mm in width. In addition, it is foldable, staying at 1140 x 415 mm. This scooter is not for sale yet, but You can now pre-order on Indiegogo with an introductory price of 1,991 euros for the DF version and 2,389 euros for the DFX. It’s not bad at all!
