This isn’t a surprise Xbox Game Pass release, like Tunic was. Weird West was officially announced as an Xbox Game Pass game in December 2021 as part of The Game Awards 2021 festivities. At the time, Weird West was scheduled for an early January 11 release, but received a three-month delay to fix various bugs and annoying issues that arose while WolfEye was working on the final touches of the game.
Early reviews of Weird West have divided opinions. Many see great potential in the game’s dark atmosphere and rich world, but also criticize the game’s combat systems and progression system. However, there are those who seem to have fallen in love with Weird West, and can’t wait to see what WolfEye does with the game upon release.
