Cassava Network, an African Web3 platform focused on non-fungible tokens (NFTs), gaming, and loyalty rewards, has released the third version of its platform, which includes integration with the UniPass non-custodial smart contract wallet, allowing users to use email addresses instead of phrases and seed gas.
With the goal of moving Africans from Web2 to Web3, the association enables users who create Cassava accounts to automatically register for UniPass, and have access to holding, sending and receiving digital assets on-chain through multiple Ethereum Virtual Machine blockchains.
In an interview with Cointelegraph, Cassava Network business developer Benjamin Obenze explained how African users and companies can use the new version to enter the Web3 space.
“With Cassava v3, we have made it easy for African users to interact with their favorite Web2 and Web3 brands. As users engage with these brands, they earn CB Coins and other on-chain rewards specified by partners.”
Obenze added that while CB Coins—the reward tokens used in the network—exist off-chain at the moment, users will soon be able to exchange them for on-chain assets. CB can then be used to purchase concert tickets and mystery boxes on the platform.
Regarding the use of Cassava v3 for businesses, Obenze stated: “Cassava v3 provides a channel through which partners can grow their African market.” Brands that partner with Cassava Network can also create online communities using the new “community” feature to get engagement and followers across different platforms by creating tasks for users to participate in and get rewarded.
During the interview, Mouloukou Sanoh, co-founder of Cassava Network, explained how the new version could improve business economics in Africa. Sanoh stated, “Cassava v3 serves as a bridge for global Web3 companies to connect with African Web2 users.” Sanoh also mentioned that so far 90% of the partners participating in the Cassava v3 community feature are African companies.
