“Corpses”known as “Bodies” in its original language, has kept viewers in suspense with its intriguing plot. The big question that surrounded everyone was whether this addictive series would receive a second season. However, the news has arrived: the creator of the series has confirmed that there will not be a continuation, and we tell you the reasons behind this decision.
The series takes us on a thrilling journey through time, following four detectives from four different time periods as they investigate a mysterious murder in London.
Over 150 years, these investigators try to decipher the secrets behind the same crime. A truly unique concept that kept viewers glued to their screens.
Despite the success it has had, “Cadáveres” will not have a season 2. This is what the creator said about it.
WHAT THE CREATOR OF “CAPSES” SAID ABOUT A SEASON 2
It’s not a question we want to hear, but we have the answer. Series writer Paul Tomalin revealed the strategy behind this decision that left fans wanting more.
It turns out that Paul designed “Corpses” from the beginning to be a complete experience in a single season. His approach was to surprise the public, but not leave them with the uncertainty of waiting for a sequel.
In this regard, Paul said: “We went to Netflix like, ‘This is a series, this is one and that’s it, we want to close this,’ because I think when you have such an amazing concept from the beginning, you alienate your audience if you don’t do it.”
Additionally, the writer wanted to make sure that all questions were answered and that the audience didn’t have to wait forever to find out what happens next. And his reasoning is understandable; Who wants to be left hanging in the plot?
“We really wanted you to feel like you had seen the red curtain at the end”he explained. And the thing is, no one likes it when a series ends on a cliffhanger that makes us wait a year or more.
However, although the series was planned as a single season of 8 episodes, Amaka Okafor, who plays Shahara Hasan, is hopeful.
“They told us it’s a limited series. But if I were telling my heart’s deepest desire, I would love to play her again.or,” he told Digital Spy.
