It may seem to you that in your house you breathe pure and healthy air. But not. Apart from the environmental pollution of the city itself, our homes contain particles harmful to our health. Invisible particles that float in the air, coming from the paint on the walls, textiles, furniture…
To solve this problem and breathe much cleaner air, there are multiple options for air purifiers on the market. For the last month we have been testing one of the latest developments in fan tower purifiers: the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde.
Silent and easy to use
This air purifier is very quiet, it is operated from a mobile application or from a remote control, and the first thing to note about it, in addition to its modern design, is how intuitive it is to use. When it arrives at your home, you just have to attach the filters to the external grids and fit the casings in the lower part of the machine on both sides.
The next steps will be to turn on the purifier, download the Dyson Link app on mobile phone, create an account and follow the steps to add the machine. Actually, it is done very simply. Thanks to the application, in addition to managing the device, you can also control and monitor air quality from the mobile phone.
Once you turn on the purifier and it starts working, the device purifies the entire room. It is best to use it without drafts, with the doors and windows of the room closed. The purifier itself generates the necessary circulation power to absorb even the most distant contaminantsprojecting purified air throughout the room.
From the remote control, or from the app, you can control the strength of the fan that regulates the air flow (there are up to 10 speeds, from the most powerful to the quietest). In fact, this purifier is hyper silent, making 20% less noise than the previous model. It is only heard with some force when the fan is at maximum power, when it also serves to alleviate the summer heat (on many nights of this heat wave, when I turned off the air conditioning, this function has served
The machine can stay fixed, or oscillate at 45º, 90º, 180º and 350º, controlling this movement both from the mobile phone and from the remote control.
Automatic mode
The air purifier has a automatic mode that adjusts the suction speed depending on the quality of the air in the room. If you turn on this mode, the machine responds to changes in air quality automatically. When good air quality is reached, the machine itself stops, turning on again if the air quality worsens. During the test, it is the one that we have used the most at home once we have verified that the air quality was generally good.
The purifier has built-in sensors that constantly analyze the air, while a Dyson algorithm cross-references the data every second to diagnose contaminants at a molecular level, displaying the results live on the device’s LCD screen, or via the app. In factthe litmus test it was a day that while I was writing, I let some potatoes cook. Due to an oversight, the cooking water evaporated, the potatoes burned, and the house was filled with the smell of burning. The gauges on the purifier shot up to 900, and turning it to full power, the quality of the air improved. Within a couple of hours, the levels had returned to their level.
night mode
The purifier has a night mode that allows the machine to continue to monitor and respond to changes in air quality and temperature, albeit on quieter settings and with the screen light dimmed so it doesn’t disturb your night’s rest.
What exactly does the purifier filter?
According to the company, the Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde captures ultrafine dust and allergens, removing 99.95% of contaminating particles down to 0.1 microns.² And how does it do it? integrated sensors constantly analyze the airwhile Dyson’s algorithm crosses data to diagnose contaminants at the molecular level. These analyzes are displayed live on the tower’s LCD screen.
The purifier detects dust, pollen, bacteria, allergens, volatile organic compounds that are usually odors and that are usually present in paints, or cleaning products, and nitrogen dioxide and other oxidizing gases that are produced by combustion and that are generated by vehicles, or by kitchens that work with gas.
The device also has a new solid state formaldehyde sensor, which has been designed to destroy VOC polluting particles including formaldehyde, a colorless polluting gas given off by furniture and wooden products with resin based on this material, such as plywood, varnishes, wallpaper or some Cleaning products. The catalytic filter traps and breaks down these molecules into water and CO2.
Our opinion
The Dyson Purifier Formaldehyde It is a great option within its range both for its features and for its design. In the case of design, it is a machine of modern and elegant design that fits in any space. Care has been taken to the detail that the remote control is stored on the top of the machine, since it has a magnet that allows it to be fixed securely.
On the other hand, in addition to spending little energy and being silent, it should also be noted that it is easy to use and very intuitive, both to start it up, and when consulting the data analyzed by the machine. Secondly, you can use it as an air purifier, but also as a fan at times when the heat tightens (levels 8, 9 and 10 generate a very refreshing air current).
The Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde costs 699 euros.
