Microsoft is currently working non-stop in order to convince the different regulatory bodies in each country to achieve the long-awaited purchase of Activision Blizzard. The situation is being especially hard with the CMA of the United Kingdom, which is putting a particularly notorious number of obstacles and requirements.
For this reason, we have finally been able to meet the number of Xbox consoles sold worldwidea fact that, to date, Microsoft had kept officially secret, being necessary to rely on external estimates in order to obtain the inaccurate figures that can be found on specialized websites.
We finally know the number of Xbox consoles sold worldwide
Microsoft has responded to the English CMA with a document of no less than 38 pages in which they establish that the Xbox platforms (which would include all the consoles of the Xbox family, but not others such as PCs or devices capable of running XCloud) would have an installation base of 63.7 million units.
Microsoft has used this data to reinforce its argument that Playstation is significantly ahead of Xbox “in all possible metrics”, adding that they have been the market leaders for 20 years. Of course, it is a fairly strong argument, which is not too far from the line that Microsoft has been defending since the acquisition of Activision Blizzard began. What do you think about it?
