For centuries we have been fascinated by the mystery of the architectural wonder that constitutes the Egyptian pyramids. In fact, some of the most recurring questions about their existence revolve around the enigma of how they were built, taking into consideration that today in the 21st century it would entail multiple logistical challenges that would only be more complicated thousands of years ago.
Some illustrious men like Elon Musk They have even gone so far as to state, without hesitation, that these works were actually the creations of alien entities. Since the most generalized conception is that there would be no other feasible explanation as to how they could have been armed in the current conditions of that desert.
But recent NASA satellite technology has just become the key tool to finally understand how it all could have been created. And it turns out that the answer is much simpler than we ever imagined. And no, it has no relation to aliens.
An extinct river would be the key to how the Egyptian pyramids were built
Against all odds, it turns out that an ancient river course, an extinct river, called Rama Ahramatwhose past existence was recently discovered thanks to cutting-edge satellite technology initially developed by the POTcould be the missing piece to understanding how the majestic pyramids of Giza were built.
For years, the enigma of how the ancient Egyptians transported millions of limestone blocks to erect these colossal structures had captivated scientists and historians. There was even the theory of the Nile as the main waterway for transporting materials, but with the 8 kilometers distance between the river and the pyramids it had generally been ruled out.
But now, this new discovery made by the Dr. Eman Ghoneim and his team University of North Carolina at Wilmington, could radically change our understanding of this process. As recounted in the research published in the most recent edition of the magazine Naturethrough the use of satellite radar, geophysical analysis, and deep soil coring, researchers confirmed the existence of an ancient river flowing right next to the pyramids of Giza.
This extinct river, called Rama Ahramat, which means “road of the pyramids” in Arabic, extended for 100 kilometers and had a depth of up to 8 meterswith an average width of 500 meters. Its course flowed parallel to the pyramids, from the oasis of Faiyum in the south to the Giza Plateau in the north.
The river is the key to the pyramids
The strategic location of Rama Ahramat, with its mouths oriented towards where the pyramids' causeways were positioned, suggests that this extinct water formation would have been the key to the creation of the pyramids.
It is, in other words, the missing piece of the puzzle that makes it clear that aliens would not have been responsible for this architectural marvel.
After all, the research becomes a clear example of how science can help us reach the most sensible and feasible explanation. Although it is not obvious at first glance.
