- Warner Music has partnered with The Sandbox to create a space that serves as both a music-focused amusement park and a concert venue.
- The Sandbox and Warner will allow artists to connect with their fans in a different way.
One of the world’s leading record labels have announced that they will be using the plots of The Sandbox, known as LAND, to create a space that serves as an amusement park focused on music and as a concert hall.
That’s right, Warner Music has decided to take its first step in the world of the metaverse hand in hand with The Sandbox and according to its advertisement will begin to plan what will be the new era of concerts. Apparently the distances will no longer be a problem because you will be able to attend the concert that you have always wanted in the virtual world.
As part of the agreement, Warner Music acquired an ‘Estate’, that is, they are a group of 1×1 LANDs that have been merged into a larger parcel. According The Sandboxusually an Estate is sized 3×3, 6×6, 12×12 and 24×24.
“Warner Music has secured the equivalent of a beachfront estate in the metaverse.”said WMG’s digital director of business development, Oana Ruxandra.
One aspect that cannot be lost sight of is what a space in the metaverse means to both artists and their fans. In particular, The Sandbox and Warner will allow artists to connect with their fans in a different way.
In general, all the companies that are working in the metaverse received a boost after the announcement that Facebook was working in this market. Specifically, The Sandbox has seen a significant increase in demand for land and has already partnered with over 200 brands and celebrities. Some of them are Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Steve Aoki, among others.
However, according to Ruxandra, Warner Music will not be limited. The company believes that this is a world with endless opportunities. It is because of that they are even looking at game development within their land.
Sale of LANDS
For all concerned, The Sandbox reported that in March 2022 it will list LANDS adjacent to the Warner Music property for sale to all comers.
In fact, in December 2021, a user paid US$450,000 to be Snoop Dogg’s neighbor on The Sandbox. So how much could land adjacent to Warner Music’s cost?
“We’re shaping The Sandbox as a fun entertainment destination where creators, fans and gamers can enjoy one-of-a-kind immersive experiences and be more connected with their favorite music artists through NFT.”, explained Sébastien Borget, COO and co-founder of The Sandbox.
Warner Music represents great artists like Ed Sheeran, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, among others. However, at the moment it is unknown which artists could be presented in the metaverse.
