Clinics attached to pharmacies have become one of the most successful businesses in the country. They have expanded throughout the national territory and even now there are spaces within the main self-service chains. With this in mind, some of the spaces located inside the stores Walmart announced that they will offer free dental consultations thanks to an alliance with Colgate.
In this vein, clinics of this type have positioned themselves in the taste of patients for two main reasons. The first is the price because consultations and services are quite cheap. In addition, they are also preferred by millions of people because the service is immediate.
With this in mind, one of the main complaints from IMSS and ISSSTE beneficiaries is the time they must spend in the waiting room to enter the office. While in the case of the private sector, the biggest barrier is the financial part because not everyone has sufficient resources.

On the other hand, to talk about comprehensive health it is necessary to focus on all aspects and one that is often forgotten is that related to the oral part. According to the WHO most diseases of this type are preventable and can be treated from their early stages.
Some of the more common conditions are dental caries, periodontal diseases, tooth loss and oral cancers. Others of importance for public health, although with a lower incidence, are orofacial clefts, noma and oral trauma.

Based on all the above, Colgate-Palmolive signed an alliance with Walmart to provide free dental checkups to the general public in Mexico City as part of the “Health begins in your mouth” campaign.
The dental check-ups will be carried out in 15 Walmart stores in CDMX and are intended to verify the general condition of people. In this way, it seeks to identify diseases from their early stages to avoid further damage. The goal is to reach 35,000 dental evaluations between August 25 and October 20.
Relationship of oral diseases with those of the rest of the body
On the other hand, the oral health it is too important because it has a direct relationship with other parts of the body. When they are not treated in a timely manner, they can lead to complications of heart or cardiovascular diseases due to the spread of bacteria and other germs from the mouth through the bloodstream.
Similarly, poor dental health is directly linked to the exacerbation of some respiratory diseases. In some cases the risk of contracting certain respiratory conditions is multiplied, such as asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and sinusitis.
