Following a failed venture to purchase the English soccer team Bradford City FC in December 2021, WAGMI United – an innovative Web3 brand utilizing blockchain mechanics and global sports culture – has announced the acquisition of the English fourth division team. Crawley Town Football Club.
Founded in 1896, the West Sussex club known as the Red Devils have had a turbulent existence both on and off the pitch. Wins such as two promotions to the league, four standard promotions and seven cup trophies – four of them the Sussex Senior Challenge Cup – provide fans with positive memories, but incidents such as the 2006 administration, following the transition to professional status, balance the Fortune.
The team is currently in thirteenth position out of twenty-four teams in the English Football League Two, also known as Sky Bet League Two.
To better contextualize both Crawley Town and the immense historical importance of English football, Crawley Football Club – as it was then known – was founded before some of today’s European heavyweights, such as Italy’s Juventus FC (1897), the FC Barcelona of Spain (1897) and AC Milan, seven times winner of the Champions League (1899).

The newly appointed founders have issued the bold promise to orchestrate a fan vote to decide their future role within the club if they fail to achieve the anticipated success of “getting promotion to League One at the end of their second season in charge.” In his opinion, the probability of promotion during that period is currently fifty percent.
Asking for further clarification on the alleged “mechanisms to hold us accountable” in the original press release, along with his aspirations for promotion in season two to League 1, Johnson was not yet ready to divulge WAGMI’s intentions regarding the possible adoption of the DAO, but did exclusively reveal that “current season ticket holders for sure” will have priority access to whatever voting mechanism is put in place.
