They will have a lot to reflect on at Ferrari after delivering one race, another one, in which they started as great favorites. Max Verstappenwho started 10th, took victory in the Hungarian GP ahead of Lewis Hamilton and George Russellmaking it even more of a leader.
With Carlos Sainz 4th and harmed by the blunders of his team, Fernando Alonso added one more race in the points (and eight in a row) after finishing 8th.
Exit: Russell resists Sainz
Russell made use of the soft ones with which he started to defend himself against Sainz, who tried to attack the leader in the first corner thanks to his better pace despite using medium tires. The resistance of the British was enough for the man from Madrid to change his initial idea, so the eyes went back.
that was where Fernando Alonso left a new radio that will be much discussed, complaining about the aggressive defense of Stephen Oconwhile both were surpassed by Lewis Hamilton.

After a short virtual safety car for the pieces of a touch between Albon’s Williams and Vettel’s Aston Martin, it was confirmed that it was not going to rain at least in these early stages and that everything was going to depend on the degradation of the tires .
This was where Ferrari began to act… and Sainz was harmed.
Ferrari’s first blunder
When it was time for the pit stops, it was Ferrari’s first failure. As usual, the injured party was Carlos Sainz. A slow stop deprived him of making the ‘undercut’ on George Russellly, moreover, was also advanced by charles leclerc.
While behind Stephen Ocon was again portrayed by an erroneous defense that allowed Daniel Ricciardo beat him and Fernando Alonso to the position, which in the end forced him to let himself go through his partner to compensate.
Ferrari’s second blunder
Russell ended up giving in to Leclerc after several laps holding the Ferrari man. The Monegasque threw the car at him at turn 1 with enormous optimism that allowed him to put himself first momentarily. From behind, Alpine warned the rest of the teams: hard tires they put together were a mess until they found the temperature.
Red Bull changed the script. Given that with the initial strategy they were not going to be able to gain position, they ordered Verstappen to enter to force his stops up front. Leclerc and Russell changed, but the Monegasque did it hard (they did not see the times of the Alpine) and Russell to media.
Luck was allied with Leclerc. Verstappen spun which saw Leclerc take the lead again, but since his tires were clearly better, he was able to save this problem by passing him a few laps later. Ferrari had just delivered the victory to its greatest rival.

Ferrari’s third blunder
Still knocked out by seeing how Leclerc was forced to stop a few laps later to mount soft ones, with Sainz they didn’t make that mistake… because they made another. Second pit stop for the Spaniard, second bad stop. Again, they took too long to mount the tires, which, moreover, they did very soon.
Hamilton only needed to wait a little longer so that, in the end, he beat the Madrid native to third position and in the end it will take him off the podium. Sainz finished 4th and Leclerc 6th, but with no option for more.
The rain did not make its appearance until the last lap, and although there was a scare (Bottas was thrown by a breakdown with three laps to go and had the virtual safety car deployed), it did not move more than when Hamilton passed to Russell to confirm the podium order. Ferrari, from being the favorite, to finishing off a podium that dominated a Verstappen who practically has the World Cup in his pocket.
