The Rossini Theater in Pesaro has been the venue chosen by the VR46 team to present its first MotoGP project. Although the Moto2 team riders have not missed the appointment, all eyes have been on the Ducati that will compete in the queen class with Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi. Two bikes that are not the same, as Valentino Rossi’s maternal brother will ride a Ducati GP22, while Bezzecchi will compete on a GP21, just like the Gresini Racing riders.
Pablo Nieto will act as team leader of the Valentino Rossi project in MotoGP, while the Italian takes his first steps in GT3 racing. He cannot leave the #46 in better hands for his team ahead of a season in which the Ducati of Marini and Bezzecchi will shine a livery in which fluorescent yellow and ocher tones are combined with black and gray. The same tones appear in the suits of the Italian pair of pilots, although in this case gray gains ground over black.
valentino rossi He was excited at the start of a new stage for him in the premier class: «We are ready to make our debut in MotoGP with a VR46 team and young drivers who will give 100%. It’s coming full circle for me and all the people who have worked so passionately on this project over the years. At the same time it is a great debut and the start of a new chapter. We are here thanks to the support of all our partners and I am happy to welcome Mooney. We met this winter, there was an immediate feeling and now we are on this stage with these beautiful bikes with our colors».
Luca Marina He is confident that he can be among the top drivers and aspires to the podium in the 2022 campaign: «It will be a very important season for me and for all of VR46 Racing. I have started to familiarize myself with the new Ducati GP22 and to understand its potential in the latest tests. The sensations are more than positive. The goal is to always be in the leading group, fight for the ‘top 5’ and always be in the ‘top 10’. I would like to get on the podium, I know it is a very ambitious goal, but I have faith in my team. The atmosphere is great, we have fun and I have a good time. I also really like the colors of the bikehave always been those of the VR46 ».
Marco Bezzecchi aspires to be the best newcomer of the year: «From now on and I’ll have to learn to handle the pressure. It has been a long wait and the adrenaline is high. I’m happy with how the tests went. Of course I have a lot to do, we have only done a race simulation so far and the first grands prix will be challenging. I like the team, we are very united and the atmosphere is good. The title of ‘rookie’ of the year is a great goalI would like to fight for him until the end. It will be special to go out on the track with this bike. It has the colors of Valentino and the VR46 family and the Italian spirit of Mooney and Ducati.”
