One of the main trends are rustic or country weddings, which take place in gardens or vineyards and are closely related to boho-chic fashion. As well, in big cities like New York or San Francisco the trend is completely opposite: here the urban weddingsset against the skyscrapers of the city or the worn walls of a factory, are the order of the day
These glamorous weddings prove that it is not necessary to go far from the city to have a dream environment. If you would like to have a completely different and romantic wedding, follow these tips. We assure you that it will be a unique event!
the venue
Forget gardens, haciendas and banquet halls: urban weddings can take place in spaces never before imagined, such as museums, warehouses, factories, the lobby of a modern hotel, the penthouse of a building or even inside a train station!
Skyscraper
Would you like to get married surrounded by dozens of skyscrapers? Look for a hotel in the downtown area of the city that has a large terrace; In the Mexican capital there are many options, among them the Hotel W in Polanco, the Hotel de Cortés, in the Historic Center, or the Condesa DF, in Condesa. Another very chic alternative is Vinícola Urbana, a small winery located in the Polanco neighborhood with a very chic terrace.
Closed space
If you prefer a closed space, but want to avoid the typical colonial patios or party rooms, choose to celebrate your marriage inside a museum, a factory or a warehouse. A very elegant option is the Museum of Contemporary Art (MARCO) in Monterrey. If you prefer a less modern environment, the Ex Fábrica La Carolina, in Puebla, offers large halls with brick walls and weathered walls. The perfect contrast for your elegant wedding! A more industrial option is the Pabellón Sopladores, in Parque Fundidora, Monterrey: an old red brick building that houses iron machinery.
The decoration
Are you going to get married on a terrace? Decorate with hanging lights for an intimate touch. You can place a phone booth to give your link an even more urban touch. However, be careful not to use decoration that is too ornate to allow the environment to shine (after all, what better decoration than city lights and stars?). You can place a minimalist montage, or give it a contrasting touch by placing vintage or shabby chic furniture.
If the place you chose has brick walls, you can hang mirrors to give it a more chic twist. Place illuminated signs with their names on the wall for a very colorful glam touch. Another option is to take inspiration from graffiti to give it a very urban air: place it on the walls, the menu, the napkins and even the invitations.
Food
If you choose to offer a brunch on a terrace, offer gourmet sandwichesflavored scones, crab cakes, cheese bar and a selection of mimosas.
If your link will be at night, opt for a more sophisticated three-course dinner, with a good selection of wines. And don’t forget the dessert table!
