There are already more than 40 years of stories located in that galaxy far, far away. Therefore, whether we are newbies or experts, the reality is that the timeline of Star Wars (at least within fiction) is very difficult terrain to navigate.
Here’s a breakdown of when each of the stories takes place in the official timeline of the universe. Star Wars.

When are they released?
Disney and Lucasfilm already have three slots reserved on their calendar for theatrical releases of Star Wars. However, they have not made it official which titles we will see on such dates.

Untitled film directed by Taika Waititi
Nothing is known about this movie yet in terms of plot, but Deadline reports that the director of Thor: Ragnarok He plans to film it in 2024.
Untitled film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy
Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (saving face, ms marvel) prepares a story set 15 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and will see the return of Daisy Ridley as Rey to build a new Jedi Order. The film will have a script by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders).
Untitled film directed by James Mangold
James Mangold, responsible for Logan (2017), against the impossible (2019) and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate, also joins a galaxy far, far away. The plot will take place 25,000 years before the known timeline and will explore the origins of the first Jedi. The filmmaker has described it as “a biblical epic” comparable to ‘The Ten Commandments’.

George Lucas’s heir, Dave Filoni, best known among warsies for his work in The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian and the next series Ahsokahe will finally receive the opportunity to bring his talents to a live action film production of Star Wars. Its production will focus on the New Republic era and will close, precisely, the interconnected stories of The Mandalorian, Boba Fett’s book, Ahsoka and other franchise series on Disney Plus.
