A few months ago the French company Ubisoft presented Quartz, its own platform for NFT’s that not only had a very negative reaction from the fans, but it has also not started well in terms of commercial success. Now Ubisoft maintains that fans criticize their NFTs because they have not understood them. This has been confirmed by Nicolas Pouard and Didier Genevois, responsible for the project, in a recent interview granted to the Finder portal. Below you can see Pouard’s response to the question of why the response from users has been so visceral.
“Well, it’s a reaction we expected. We know that not an easy concept to understand. But Quartz is just the first step that should lead us to something bigger. Something that our players will be able to understand better. That’s the way we think about it and so we keep experimenting. We will continue to roll out features and services around this first initiative. And our thinking is that, piece by piece, the puzzle will be revealed and understood by our players. We hope you understand the value of what we offer you”, commented Pouard.

The creators of Quartz have also wanted to talk about the frustration that this negative reaction from the public has caused them, even if they expected it: “we are a little frustrated, Yes. But we think it’s okay and it’s something we can understand. We strongly believe that what we are doing is going in the right direction. So we will continue integrating. We will obviously listen to what our fans say, and how they say it to us, so that we can tailor what we do and where we’re going.” NFTs have caused rejection by a large part of the industry due to their speculative component and their enormous environmental impact.
