Mexico will witness a new way of traveling through private transportation apps, with Uber Agreement.
Specialized studies show that countries such as China, Russia, Spain and the United States are the largest users of these platforms.
This option joins the travel innovations implemented, taking into account the already announced Uber Moto.
Uber Agreement arrives in Mexico seeking to reconnect with the target audience. Remember that, after the popularization of these services, the application has become one of the most expensive on the market. It is expected that in future dates this option will work and can be extended to the rest of the country.
Stephen Illades, Uber Rideshare Communications Manager in Mexicoexpressed to the media the aspirations of this tool.
Uber and the apps private transportation
The apps of private transport in Mexico have gained more and more presence. Uber, DiDi, Cabify and Beat, among others, they have managed to position themselves as the leaders in this area.
In fact, a study retrieved from Dahlia Research points out that countries such as China, Russia, Spain and the United States are the largest users of these apps Of transport. Even more than 51 percent of the Chinese population, according to the number of respondents, says they use them frequently.
Although Mexico does not appear among the ten countries presented in this list, the bet of these applications is firm. Official data from the latest report of Coru point out that 2 percent of the Mexican population spends more than 500 pesos on these applications. As if that were not enough, the weekly amount registered was between less than 300 pesos (66 percent) and from 301 to 500 pesos (22 percent).
Uber in the recent past has implemented essential functions and tools for Mexicans. We have, for example, the case of Uber Moto, which was launched in Mexico for some municipalities and cities. The lucky eight were Naucalpan, Mazatlán, Nezahualcóyotl, Cuernavaca, Culiacán, Morelia, Tlalnepantla and Toluca. This emerged as an alternative use to the use of cars.
Other applications like DiDi have expanded with the option not only of transport but also of deliveryjoining Rappi and Uber Eats. This is a sign that the Mexican market continues to grow and is a sign that the bet remains.
Similarly, Beat launched the option beatzero, which is already available for countries like Mexico and Colombia. Supposedly, this is intended to mitigate the impact of high costs, being a cheaper and safer alternative.
Uber Agreement arrives in Mexico and this is the platform’s proposal
In order to regain customer confidence, the company has decided to implement the Uber Agreement option. This will seek to reduce the impact of high rates by generating an agreement never seen before.
Supposedly, users will be able to choose a destination from their application and, later, they will receive prices suggested by the platform. Once the client chooses the price that is convenient for him, the proposal will be sent to the driver. When the offer is analyzed by the driver, he can decide whether to take the trip or reject it.
This way, Uber Agreement is presented to facilitate communication between customer and driver. The service, for the time being, will only be available with this option in Saltillo. This is what Esteban Illades, Communications Manager for Uber Shared Rides in Mexico, had to say:
“We are very excited to present Uber Agreement in Saltillo. With this proposal we seek to contribute to improving the city’s mobility schemes and participate in its economic recovery”.
Although Coahuila was the first option to present this idea, it is expected that the company can extend it to the rest of the Mexican Republic..
These types of tools demonstrate that apps they must consider not only expanding borders but also their target audience. Probably the user in China has more facilities to use the applications than in Mexico and this will have to be worked on. One of the options is modulating prices so that they are more accessible to all audiences.
