The relationship between Twitter Y Elon Musk it has overturned to the point where it now looks like the next step is going to be in court. After Elon Musk made it clear that he was backing out of his deal to buy Twitter, the social networking site threatened legal action.
The threat of lawsuit is just the latest twist in what has been quite an interesting saga between Elon Musk Y Twitter. When he first announced that he wanted to buy the platform, there were not a few who opposed the impending deal. Most of those objections were based on concerns that Tesla’s owner would change how the site works and not for the better.
For now, though, those concerns seem to be a thing of the past. Less than an hour after Musk presented his intention to back out of the agreement, Twitter responded that it was “committed to closing the transaction”, at the agreed sale price per share. Twitter said it would take the billionaire to the Delaware Chancery Court to make sure the deal the two sides had agreed to was, in fact, completed.
It is interesting that the top officials of the social networking site are now proclaiming that they will do everything in their power to force Elon Musk to take over the property. When he first announced his intention to offer a share price that would be too difficult to refuse, he was talked about Twitter could try to kill any possible agreement.
It seems that the money Musk offered was lucrative enough that, even if there were doubts about the prospect of Tesla’s CEO taking over the company, it wasn’t enough to outweigh the potential money.
At the moment it is unknown what the next steps will be in this tug-of-war between Musk and Twitter. The legal fight is just beginning.
