While every month, some eight million content creators perform live on the platform, and in 2021 there were more than 15 million people who were encouraged to make their first broadcast on Twitch.

As a platform with millions of users around the world, its use represents a large window for brand advertisements that often pass as banners, brand logos, and even videos that some content creators were hired to advertise.
As announced by the social network, as of July 1, 2023, all content creators who broadcast on Twitch will have to modify the way they do paid advertising, since none of these three can be included. categories: videos, graphics and audios.
As reported by the official page, “streamers are free to charge for advertising services and close agreements with brands.”
But among its new rules, it indicates that it has the ability to sell, publish and display ads on any of its services, therefore, these modifications have been made in its community.
They are not all bad ads, as the platform also outlined what advertising is allowed and that streamers who do it will be able to do so, but they must use a tool called “Branded Content Disclosure” to notify users that their transmission includes some type of advertising, so they can decide whether to continue watching the creator or move to another one that does not carry these ads.
According to its portal, the cases that it still allows are five and these must be reported with the advertising disclosure tool such as the brand panels on the channel page that is accessed by swiping down on any stream or by clicking in the “About” tab.
