Twitch announced that the minimum payment threshold will be lowered in some countries. We tell you everything you need to know in this note!
One of the biggest problems that content creators who are just joining Twitter is the minimum payment threshold. This is the minimum amount that the platform establishes in our earnings to be able to transfer it to another account or remove it from Twitter. The current amount was $100, a value that is not very easy to achieve if we are just starting out. Now when we collect $50we will be able to get that value but only in some countries.
The new minimum will be available from July 15 in countries like Argentina, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and Taiwan. But there is no need to worry because the minimum amount will also change in other countries, only in a few months.
“One day, we would love for you to be able to end your stream and have the money you earned from that stream in your wallet,” explains the statement Twitter where the change of the minimum was announced. “Our main goal is to lower the payment threshold, and for that we are focusing on building a reliable, accurate and accessible experience globally for everyone.” Thanks to this new amount, Twitter anticipates that over 70,000 creators they will receive regular payments that they currently do not receive.
The good news is that the new minimum amount applies to all payment methods available on Twitch. This means that we can have our $50 by direct deposit, deposits made in local banks, Paypal and checks. However, payments that are bank transfers will continue to have a minimum amount $100in order to offset the costs of the transfer.
This is great news for local content creators and those with a small following. When the minimum to be able to withdraw the money from Twitter it was $100it was very difficult to reach that number with just one stream and they even needed almost a live for each day to be able to reach the $100 at the end of the month.
These are not the only changes that come to twitch, since the platform is also working on a way to modify the way it pays partners. Some of the company’s proposals include incentives for streamer post more ads and reduce the income of the main streamers. But these are not confirmed changes, so we will have to wait to see when it will come true. For now, we can enjoy a lower payment threshold, which is quite favorable for streamers local.
