Netflix It reminds us that it still has many anime releases for 2022, and if this spring is going to come loaded with new titles, it is already warming up for after summer. One of the premieres planned for the end of the year is that of ‘Drift Home’the new anime film that prepares colorful studioone of the Japanese studios that developed the ‘Star Wars: Visions’ shorts.
A new collaboration between Studio Colores and Netflix
The animation studio has carved out a niche for itself in the industry thanks to the anime adaptation of ‘Burn the Witch’ by Tite Kubo and ‘cat love’, which came directly to Netflix. ‘Drifting Home’, his new project, will also be released directly on the streaming platform, although we will have to wait until the next 16 of September.
In addition to this more complete look at the animation of the film with the second trailer and confirmation of the release date, Netflix has also released an official poster for ‘Drifting Home’.
In front of ‘Drift Home’ is Hiroyasu Ishida, who also directed ‘Penguin Highway’ for Studio Colores. The script for the original anime film is by Hayashi Mori and Hiroyasu Ishida and the character design by Akihiro Nagae.
As stated in the official synopsis of the Studio Colorful film: “Kousuke and Natsume have been friends since childhood, but over time, the relationship between the two sixth graders has become increasingly tense, to the point of avoid each time they pass.”
“One day during summer vacation, they visit a soon-to-be-demolished housing complex. It’s the place where these kids grew up, so there are a lot of memories associated with the place, but while they’re playing they get caught up in a strange phenomenon. Once they regain consciousness, they realize that they are facing a vast ocean. The complex has been teleported to the middle of nowhere, and now these young people, along with many others, must return to their world at all costs.”
