What is the best Dragon Ball technique? This is a question that generates intense debates among fans of Akira Toriyama’s work. But for the greatest manga illustrator and anime supervisor, Toyotarothere is not much to think about: choose without thinking too much about the matter.
Toyotaro took over Dragon Ball since the return of the series, which returned with new episodes in the manga and anime, with Dragon Ball Super.
Akira Toriyama is on top of all the projects, but Toyotaro is the one who executes. Simply put, he is the sensei’s right hand man. Therefore, he becomes one of the most authoritative speaking voices of the series.
The place Vandal collects an interview in which Toyotaro offers his opinion of Dragon Ball as a fan. So, when I questioned him about his favorite technique, this is what he said:
“If we are talking about Dragon Ball techniques, then it has to be the Kame Hame Ha. Whether it is the name, the pose or the fact that it is a move passed down from Master Roshi, leader of the Turtle School, there is simply no technique that surpasses it, none has a chance of surpassing Kame Hame Ha.”
“It’s an ingenious technique. The way you collect energy and then release it, is the basic principle that can be seen in all other techniques. “It all started with Kamehameha,” adds the Japanese mangaka.
The origins of Kame Hame Ha
“Kame” means “turtle” in Japanese, and “Hame” means “wave.” The full name of the technique is “Turtle Wave”, and it refers to the posture that the user must adopt to perform it.
Some theories say that Kame Hame Ha is inspired by the real fighting technique known as “Hyakuretsu Kyaku”. The Hyakuretsu Kyaku is a flying kick that consists of giving 100 kicks in rapid succession. Kame Hame Ha is similar in that it requires a great deal of energy and concentration to perform.
