The Twitch Streaming platform has a huge audience around the world, so many of them are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and this month, we celebrate all LGBTQIA+ creators on Twitch, with all the authenticity, with all the community, with all the personality, with all the self expression, with everything they bring to Twitch and all the ways they make it a more welcoming and inclusive place every day.

Something that we find quite striking is that, with the aim of creating an inclusive space for all streamers, Twitch has several features and activities that bring personality and new options to the channels for the LGBTQIA+ community. Here are 5 ways to do it:
Labels for diversity. On Twitch, streamers will find more than 350 different labels to give identity to their streams, because thanks to them they will be able to place gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, skill issues, mental health and more with which the audience can identify.
Make your feed inclusive. We encourage streamers to promote inclusivity, on their own initiative, by setting up channel rules. Thus, you can indicate to your viewers that you want to create an inclusive community and add your pronouns in the channel rules or in the broadcast title. This will create a more diverse community where everyone will find something to be entertained with!
grow your community. For all creators, collaborating with other streamers is a great way to grow your channel – and have fun at the same time. If you haven’t already, take the time to expand your network to include LGBTQIA+ creators.
a worldwide celebration. Throughout the month, different activities will be carried out to give visibility and support to the community within Twitch. Some of them will be:
- Global Highlights: Throughout the month, creators from around the world will be featured on each region’s homepage, email feeds, and on Twitch social media.
- Twitch Prom: On June 25th, Team Transtopia, a group of Twitch streamers comprised solely of transgender and gender diverse content creators, will host their first annual ‘Twitch Prom’ event.
- Team Transtopia, with the support of Twitch, will be collaborating with StreamElements, GLSEN, and John Frieda in an extra effort to prove that it’s never too late to celebrate your authenticity. Don’t miss any of this at twitch.tv/teamtranstopia.
Beyond banning, raise your voice. Transphobia, homophobia, hateful behavior, and bullying have no place on Twitch, social media, or anywhere else. Reporting is essential to taking action against people who violate our Community Guidelines and seek to harm our creators and the community.
If you just ban, but don’t report it, Twitch won’t know what happened; That’s why everyone has a role in keeping the community safe and #proud of who they really are.
