A series from The CW will once again put Tom Welling in the spotlight. However, this time it has nothing to do with DC and will be accompanied by Brendan Fraser.
The CW, one of the subsidiaries of Warner Bros. and the consortium WarnerMedia, is responsible for creating the Arrowverse, in addition to producing series inspired by the characters of Dc comics. Flash, Supergirl and Batwoman are some of the titles of the production company. However there was a show from that universe and from the same chain that started it all, Smallville, which was starred by the iconic Tom welling.
The actor gave life to Clark Kent / Superman for a decade, becoming for many the best-known face of live-action superheroes. Even his fame and recognition were on par with the version of Spider-man from Tobey Maguire.
Now, 10 years after the end of the program, the interpreter will return to the same studio that gave him so much. This time, it won’t be to be wrapped up in the DCEU nor anything like that, but to star Professionals, an action series that promises more than normal.
The project has already finished shooting and was filmed in Ireland and South Africa, so it is assumed that he had a large budget. In addition, in the cast will also be Brendan Fraser, who little by little is returning to Hollywood. The celebrity finds himself with a busy schedule after some downtime and shadows.
Synopsis
But… What is Professionals about? Collider, specialized in film and television, offered a detailed synopsis of the production of The CW.
A co-production between the Republic of Ireland and South Africa, Professionals follows Vincent Corbo (Welling), a security officer paid to protect the interests of the rich and famous, whether his methods are strictly legal or not. Corbo is hired by the eccentric billionaire Peter swann (Fraser) after one of his high-tech medical satellites explodes, causing Swann to suspect sabotage, and Corbo’s world is turned upside down, particularly when his ex-lover, her Dr. Grace Davila (Elena Anaya) turns out to be Swann’s fiancée. To fulfill his contract with Swann, Corbo must expose a deadly conspiracy aimed at taking control of Swann’s tech empire, while facing off against a rogue Europol agent who is hell-bent on making him pay for past crimes.
The release date is not yet known, but it is expected that it can still be distributed in 2021.
