If yesterday we echoed the leak of the release date of Ghostwire: Tokyo through the PlayStation store, today a new leak reveals many details of the Tango Gameworks game unknown to date. The Japanese studio has been very secretive about the game, but apparently some media have already been able to play a previous version and all kinds of details about its content have begun to leak. story, combat, enemies and more.
Apparently, this leak comes from Alice Bell of Rock, Paper Shotgun, who attended a 30 minute presentation on Ghostwire: Tokyo recently with other media. Bell would have advanced the date of the embargo and posted his trailer ahead of time. Although it has already been removed, numerous details have been leaked about the new from the creators of Ghostwire: Tokyo:
According to this leak, Ghostwire: Tokyo is starring a young Japanese man named Akito who has been possessed by the spirit of a demon hunter (via Reddit). In this way, Akito faces the fearsome yokai spirits that have invaded Tokyo. The leak talks about the spirit that possesses the protagonist interacting with hers to give her advice or new information about these yokai.
As for combat, there is talk of enemies in the form of “headless schoolgirls with bows and arrows, women with very long arms armed with large scissors, faceless businessmen with umbrellas.” Akito will face them with a technique called Weaving with which he hits enemies, blocks their attacks and «extracts their essence with a golden thread«. You’ll also be able to use “elemental attacks” (magic?), stealth kills, and some weapons. A bow is specifically specified, and that the arrows run out.
This filtration also ensures that there will be boss fights and that health will not be represented by life bars or numbers, but rather will be done visually. “Umbrellas will break, and so on.”
Not only will there be enemies in Tokyo, the residents of the city roam in the form of ghosts, while the protagonist must «capture them, place them in katashiro paper dolls and send them by public telephones out of the city» so that they return to their normal state. This katashiro paper and other supplies can be purchased at yokai cat shops.
We already know when Ghostwire Tokyo will arrive on Xbox Game Pass
Bellle would have quite liked what she’s seen of Ghostwire: Tokyo so far, it looks “great and very weird, unusual, and rremember to action movies from the 90s and 2000s like Blade». According to the latest leaks, Ghostwire: Tokyo will go on sale March 24 on PS5 and PC. The embargo date for these and other prints would be next February 4, according to another leak.
