In Mexico, 17.2 percent of a group of respondents claimed to allocate between 501 and 1,000 pesos to Three Kings Day gifts.
A survey reveals that 65 percent of people are optimistic that 2023 will be better for them than the year before.
On social networks, a video posted on TikTok is drawing attention for showing some “Wise Men” dancing to the rhythm of reggaeton and starting their journey home, taking into account that tomorrow, January 6, is Three Kings Day.
As of December 2022, social networks began, little by little, to trend towards the Three Wise Men, who, year after year, are dedicated to bringing all kinds of gifts to children and adolescents who, by the way, are those who wait the most this season.
And it is that, in Mexico, the tradition of Three Kings Day surpasses, although by little, the arrival of Santa Claus (December 25). This is revealed by a study, which details that 43 percent of Mexican children preferred the Three Kings, while 42 percent preferred Santa Claus.
Now, on the one hand, this beginning of 2023 seems to arrive with a little more optimism, compared to recent years, this, because everything indicates that we are saying goodbye to the pandemic and its most lethal effects, not so from Covid -19.
In accordance with a recent Ipsos survey65 percent of those surveyed say they feel optimistic that 2023 will be better for them than the previous year.
In this context, it should be noted that Mexico and Brazil are the countries with the highest percentage (of the countries analyzed in the study) of people who feel positive about the new year. Of the 32 countries surveyed, these two hold the top spot, with 85 percent of respondents feeling most optimistic about 2023.
To the rhythm of… reggaeton? “Wise Men” begin their journey
2023 has also arrived in the midst of a context of uncertainty due to inflation that, according to experts, will begin to subside in 2024.
A study carried out by Ipsos announced that nine out of ten respondents say they feel stressed by the impact of rising prices and 55 percent are more so than last year.
This impact has undoubtedly affected the Three Wise Men, since in days of inflation and rising prices, expenses will also be reduced. According to data from a survey carried out between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, around 17.2 percent of Mexicans stated that they allocate between 501 and 1,000 Mexican pesos to Three Kings Day gifts.
So, just a few hours after the arrival of the Three Kings in Mexican homes, a video on TikTok has captured them dancing reggaeton, the music of the new generations, before starting their tour.
