The young man had contracted the service with the provider Comcast, which in order to improve its line, He asked for $50,000 to be able to move forward with a project.
In addition, Jared Mauch consulted with another company, AT&T, which is better known, but it offered download speeds similar to what he already had.
Those drops spilled the glass of Mauch’s patience, who decided to undertake and create his own internet service provider company.
The creation of Washtenaw Fiber Properties
In order to have a better connection, benefit financially and help the neighbors in his community, Mauch created Washtenaw Fiber Properties. He bought a direct connection to the company Advanced Communication & Data and deployed a fiber optic network to the rural area.

With the help of the locality, its network will expand to 417 addresses in Freedom, Lima, Loci and Scio, with which it will be able to reach 600 clients. The contract signed by Mauch indicates that it will offer unlimited 100 Mbps symmetric internet for $55 per month and unlimited 1 Gbps for $80.
