Help your little one improve his health if he has a gastrointestinal infection.
The gastrointestinal infections are very common in children because they are exposed to various factors that may come to sicken (such as failure to wash hands, proximity to other sick children or junk food).
If your little one has a gastrointestinal infection, he requires various care so that his health improves as soon as possible and he does not miss classes or stop doing his other activities. The nutritionist Claudia Hurtado shares the following tips:
1. Hydrate with electrolytes: it is important that your little one stays well hydrated, especially if he has vomiting and/or diarrhea. The electrolytes will help you to recover and will also give you energy.
2. Adequate food: decreases the amount of sugary, irritating, and/or very fatty foods. Nor should you give him foods that inflame the stomach, such as legumes.
3. Use probiotics: they help a lot in the treatment of diarrheal infections. They can occur throughout the period of diarrhea, especially if you are taking antibiotic treatment.
