In several seasons of the year, usually in the colder ones, it tends to generate the outbreak of respiratory diseases, especially in the child population that is usually more vulnerable to these conditions.
That is why we leave you a series of tips for you to apply on a daily basis and you can prevent respiratory diseases in your children.
1. Check that the clothing you wear to school is appropriate, because although the sun continues to rise in some areas of the capital, also wind currents are present and can cause cooling.
In the same way, do not overdo it to shelter them, because most likely it is that the child after sweating strips off the outerwear and that generates that the clothes wet with the wind act as a trigger for possible cold.
2. Recommend to your children not to eat ice cream, food or cold drinks. Because while they may feel hot, changing temperatures within the body can affect their health.
Make sure that they do not immediately drink or eat food from the refrigerator, it will be better if they are at room temperature.
3. Motivate children to wash their hands in all the places they frequent, whether at school, daycare or at home, especially if they are in direct contact with a diversity of people and other people’s environments.
4. In times of low temperatures, it is advisable to consume foods rich in Vitamin C that fight respiratory diseases. Breakfasts or lunchboxes that include orange or lemon juice, as well as tangerines, strawberries, papaya, carrots, or kiwi, are recommended.
5. If your little one already has a history of previous allergies or is often ill, you should take your child to a checkup with his family doctor or give him flu shots as a preventive measure.
