Conspiracy theories abound on the Internet and social networks, and one of the most curious involves the presence of modern and technological objects in ancient paintings. One of the most intriguing cases is that of a painting painted in 1670 by the Dutch artist Pieter de Hooch, titled “Young Woman with a Letter and a Messenger in an Interior”, where an alleged time traveler appears with a iphone.
In this work, a male character can be seen on the right side of the image holding a letter that curiously resembles the screen of the famous Apple smartphone.
In accordance with 20 minutesthis image has been the subject of debate and speculation, as it raises questions about the possibility that similar technological devices existed in past eras.
The peculiarity of this representation even caught the attention of Apple CEO Tim Cook, who was surprised to discover the painting during a visit to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
A surprise for Tim Cook
According to reports in the Mirror, Cook joked about the creation of the iPhone by saying: “I always thought I knew when the iPhone was invented, but now I’m not so sure.”.
The Apple executive was shocked by the image, stating that he saw an iPhone in one of the paintings, though he admitted it was hard to see with the naked eye.
The presence of an alleged iPhone in a 17th-century painting raises questions about the possibility of time travel, the existence of advanced technology in bygone eras, or just an amazing coincidence. Although some may argue that this is an optical illusion or a subjective interpretation, the visual impact that this similarity has generated cannot be denied.
Could it have been an accidental sneak peak of modern technology into a 17th century work of art? Or perhaps, it simply shows how objects and symbols from different eras can look strikingly alike.
