A study of GWI realize the influence it has TikTok currently.
The history of Motel El Ruido tells us how important the brand structure becomes.
Monserrat (@monserratquirarte17, TikTok) is another case of what happens in a hotel.
The story told by a tiktoker showing the appearance and amenities of a motel of Seventy pesos It went viral, demonstrating the interest that the audience puts in these anecdotes.
“A June 2020 survey of TikTok users in the United States and the United Kingdom found that for 60 percent of respondents, the main reason for using the platform was to find funny or entertaining videos. The second most popular reason was to spend free time and only ten percent of users used TikTok to participate in hashtag challenges,” he explained. L. Cecianalyst of Statista when presenting the study of GWI exclusively for platform subscribers, which helps us understand the impact that a story has on this social network.
From a 70-peso motel to a “furnished” hotel
A tiktoker has nearly nine million views on social networks (@elcargadorgdl, TikTok), by showing the amenities that a motel called El Ruido offers its frugal guests.
The experience for seventy pesos begins with a single garage for two rooms, something unexpected in a place of this type. Continuing with the amenities offered by the rooms, the headboards of the beds have an “iron thing”, which stands out in the upper part of the headboard, which, according to the young man, serves as support to carry out activities on the bed.
Another of the amenities shown was an ergonomic bed, which he said has a hole and springs outside. As part of the entertainment, the room includes a non-functioning television, a roll of toilet paper, and a piece of soap that is delivered cut from a bar of this cosmetic product.
Once they enter the bathroom, they claim to be in the presence of a minimalist shower that only had a tube, so in the absence of a head the water stream came out shapelessly, a toilet without a lid, for which they said there is no need to lift it and a sink that doesn’t work either.
One of the warnings that Motel El Ruido makes and does not include the seventy-peso rate is security, so it warns guests that they are not responsible for the theft of their vehicles or objects left in the rooms.
This unique experience narrated by a man who visits a 70-peso motel for a room contrasts with other documentary exercises made by users such as Monserrat (@monserratquirarte17, TikTok) a maid who is dedicated to recording everything that guests leave in a hotel room that she has to clean, being surprised in one of her latest videos because it showed that the inhabitants of this room furnished the room for the long stay they carried out, to the point of even buying a refrigerator, so they left this woman not only unopened snacks or chocolates, this time she had to keep the appliance, spices, pans, a airfrierfurniture to accommodate clothes, sealed food, cleaning products and a large number of pantry products.
There is a clear contrast in both narrated cases, the only constant in these stories is the importance of hotel anecdotes on social networks and how interested audiences are around these narratives.
