It seems that Elon Musk is in serious trouble. A few hours after the launch of Threadsthe Instagram spin-off app that is basically a Twitter clone has amassed tens of millions of users and it doesn’t look like the trend is slowing down.
It all started somewhat unexpectedly. Although the first rumors about the imminent launch of the app leaked through the app itself app store of Apple, the reality is that no one was able to gauge the rage triggered by the platform until the very moment of its release.
Threads started on a high note, with mark zuckerberg dusting off his Twitter account after almost a decade of inactivity to launch a meme that cleverly mocked and made the competition against Elon Musk’s company official.
The people of Meta executed a brilliant moveby linking the new social network directly to Instagram and this has been seen in the last few hours, where new Threads users number in the millions, in a trend that seems to be going down.
All the signs are here: Mark Zuckerberg entered this business and his goal is to dethrone Twitter by taking advantage of everything its current owner has done.
Elon Musk doesn’t like this: Threads surpasses 10 million users in just 7 hours
The brilliant part with the launch of Threads is that since it is linked to the Instagram account, the account creation processes and the generation of followers is virtually automatic, it only requires a couple of taps on the smartphone once the application is installed.
This is how during the first two hours after its launch Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta and one of the main architects behind Threads, advertisement that the platform would have managed to concentrate two million followers in just a couple of hours.
The first figures then suggested that the social network could grow at the rate of one million new users every 60 minutes. But said average was exceeded and busted as the night progressed.
In the last post conducted by the executive, it was revealed that Threads had actually ended up putting together his first 10 million users in just a span of seven hours. What bursts any previous expectation.
To be honest Threads feels in diapers and that reminds us of the first version of Twitter. A very foreign to Elon Musk.
