And we still don’t have a release date in Spanish!
As we already mentioned, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will finally get its anime adaptation, after leaving its fans on hiatus for more than a decade: on October 8 the first episode was broadcast at New York Comic-Con And for those who couldn’t make it to the convention, we have the official trailer. This fact joins the renaissance of the Tite Kubo franchise that began with the continuation of the Howl from the Jaws of Hell arc that was released in early 2022.
NYCC shared the big news about the premiere not long ago, and the event is being powered by US publisher VIZ Media. “At NYCC’s must-see panel, thousands of lucky fans will be able to watch episode one of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War before the simulcast transmission. We will have special messages and an epic cosplay contest with amazing prizes. Do not do it. Do not miss it”, says the description of the premiere. And, from what we can see in the official trailer, the promise has been fulfilled:
This anime adapts the final arc of the saga, one that we could not know when this series was first broadcast. For a large part of the fandom, this means a closure of more than a decade of waiting, however there are still many questions in the air that are worth taking into account. After all, at the time of this writing, no streaming service has taken over Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Viz Media is General Licensed on the English-speaking side of North America, in Mexico and Latin America the story varies from country to country, as for Europe, the manga license has not been used for quite some time. In which case, no publisher has a streaming service of its own, the brand could sublet the titles to other platforms.
For example, Bleach is streaming on Hulu and Crunchyroll, among other services, right now, so the same could happen with his next story arc. It has been rumored that in Spain, it could be carried out by Disney+ after the large investment it has made to broadcast anime series, but this has not yet been confirmed.
The Bleach anime will finally have its long-awaited ending.
The original manga saga came to an end just over a decade ago and, although this may mean that the fandom that has already read that closing does not have much to do with this projection. Fortunately, the team behind the anime adaptation and Tite Kubo have a couple of good news on the matter.
In a recent interview, Kubo admitted that this season of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, he will take his time and answer the questions that the manga couldn’t answer. He has worked closely with the creators so that it is not an adaptation as is, but rather serves to solve several gaps in the original script. However, with a month to go until October arrives, fans are becoming more and more anxious as no streaming services have announced their license for this anime. Current rumors have suggested that Disney+ may have licensed, which could spell disaster for anime given the lack of anime simulcasts on the platform. But for now, fans know that NYCC will have something to show for at least October 8.
This new series will be in charge of adapting the end of the manga, and it seems that it will have enough freedom to do so. contributing new ideas to this version. At the moment, it has been confirmed that the anime will be divided into four parts, with the first 12 or 13 episodes airing during the fall and the rest in small batches. So it is possible that we will come together with a final anime of between 48 and 52 episodes.
What we also know is that the broadcast of ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ starts on October 10. For now we still have to bite our nails with the international broadcast but Viz Media has licensed the rights to the anime for simulcast in the United States.so we may soon have news about how it can be seen in the rest of the world.
