There are a few hours to know the new products of Manzana that will be revealed at the “Unleashed” event, in which the firm is expected to not only announce its new processor for computers, but there will also be new computers that will carry this chip.
But within hours of knowing the products, Mark Gurman, who is one of the most reliable sources when it comes to Apple leaks, revealed information about the new processors, while a source on Weibo published a render of what would be the first. MacBook with Face ID, that is, with facial unlocking.
M1 Pro and M1 Max
The first surprise would be in the chips, because Apple will not only present a new version of the M1, but 2. According to Gurman, the new M1s will be focused on professional customers who require more power in their computer equipment for their day-to-day tasks, from design to creation and editing of digital video content.
Gurman says that both processors will have the same CPU, which will be made up of 10 cores; 2 of efficiency and 8 of high performance, although it does not specify what the power of these cores is.
The big difference would be in the GPU, since the M1 Pro would come with 16 cores, while the M1 Max would jump up to 32 cores.
Regarding RAM, both processors can be purchased with 16.32 and 64 GB versions.
The current models of the M1 only have versions of 8 and 16 GB of RAM, while they include up to 8 cores in their GPU.
The first MacBook with facial recognition
A render of what would be Apple’s first computer with facial recognition has been leaked on Weibo, that is, one that would integrate Face ID.
Apparently this year’s MacBook Pro will abandon the touch bar that has generated so many divided opinions, and will instead bet on a Face ID and the MagSafe connector, which it has stopped using in its computers since 2016.
The return of the MagSafe would not mean abandoning the USB-C port, but it would be a more comfortable option for charging the device, although it is hoped that this does not mean that the USB ports stop working to charge the battery of the device.
