Much has been made over the years about how the original ending to the Assassin’s Creed saga was going to be very different from the final result. Initially the saga was conceived as a trilogy, far from the dozens of sequels that we have obtained today.
Furthermore, according to a recent research work about the use of religion in the saga, made by student Lars de Wildt, the co-creator of the saga, Patrice Desilets, has commented that Assassin’s Creed III was going to end with Desmond and Lucy fleeing in a spaceship in order to lay the foundations of a new civilization, in a clear allusion to Adam and Eve. This was going to be the surprising original ending of the Assassin’s Creed saga.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök release date confirmed
This ending would take place after Desmond (protagonist of the trilogy) fully obtained the abilities of Altaïr and Ezio through the bleeding effect (a concept of great importance in the original titles that was abandoned) and ended Abstergo.

It’s a shame that this sci-fi focus of the original titles had to be abandoned in favor of new sequels. However, it is always interesting to read the concepts that the creators of a saga had in mind for it, before becoming as massive as in the case of Assassin’s Creed.
